waiting in vain

a saturday morning like the other saturday mornings that she enjoyed. enjoyed. apparently, the stillness of the morning, the sound of the broom swish-swishing while it meets the floor, and the promise of a whole day of cleaning is not sufficient to make the lady of the house smile anymore.

the silence and solitude she used to revel in are now but reminders of how "alone" she was. was.

...with cold, cough, and fever she waits impatiently for signs of recovery. and when that happens, she knows the visits from her beloved will resume, and they will once again float towards their little piece of forever - together.
